Our Story

Our school was opened in 1969 with eleven classrooms in one building. In the 1970’s, fifteen classrooms were added in two additional wings. In 1998, a much needed Physical Education building was added to our campus. Although Glenn Hills serves a diverse population, and for many years was the hub for ESOL students in Richmond County; now, the majority of our students are African American. Our school is home to the Gators, and our school colors are blue and green. We are a community school, and feed into Glenn Hills Middle and High Schools. Glenn Hills Elementary School is located on the highest hill in Augusta near the intersection of Bobby Jones Expressway and Deans Bridge Road. We are in the vicinity of Augusta Technical College.

College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) is Georgia’s statewide accountability system. The CCRPI assesses how well students are prepared for college and careers, and ensures that schools are focused on improving achievement among all students. The index measures student achievement on indicators such as content mastery, student growth on progress, subgroup performance on closing gaps, and various areas including Lexile performance, attendance, and other academic based measurements. Schools earn CCRPI points based on indicators that vary by grade and school level and align with measures of college- and career-readiness.  Each individual component score is on a scale of 0-100. Additional data for CCRPI can be found at this address: https://ccrpi.gadoe.org/
